Players of each respective Pikamoon Mini-Game automatically compete in two types of leaderboards — Monthly and Yearly.
There’s also a third leaderboard… the ‘Grand’ leaderboard, wherein players’ scores from across all five games are consolidated to make one ‘grand’ score. As you’ll later learn, the Grand leaderboard is also concerned with both Monthly and Yearly player positioning.
By design, this particular leaderboard structure allows all types of gamers to win…as whilst steady, consistent players will be contending at the summit of Yearly rewards, those who decide to have a savage 4-week Arcade-Game bonanza will be in the reckoning for Monthly rewards.
Additionally, as each game differs in difficulty, achievable score, and number of players, we’ve also put together a meticulous formula that normalizes player achievements across each title, making scores proportional and therefore fairer.
Essentially, what this means is that playing a ‘difficult’ or ‘less played’ game is just as productive as playing an ‘easy’ or ‘popular’ game when it comes to your Grand leaderboard position…and in-fact, based on pure numbers, you’ll actually have a better chance of ranking higher in the leaderboards for ‘less played’ games.
Through competing and attaining a score in a respective Mini-Game, players are automatically entered into its Monthly and Yearly leaderboards, as well as the Monthly and Yearly leaderboards of the Grand leaderboard (that’s four leaderboards for playing just one game).
Here, 15,000,000 PIKA is allocated to the Monthly prize pool each month, whilst the Yearly prize pool contains 50,000,000 PIKA.
Now let’s see how reward distribution plays-out in practice…
When it comes to Monthly rewards, 60% of the 15,000,000 Monthly reward PIKA allocation is simply distributed to the best monthly players of each game. In practice, this means 9,000,000 PIKA will be split amongst the best players across all five Mini-Games for a given month.
The remaining 40% of the Monthly reward PIKA allocation (6,000,000) is sent to the Grand leaderboard, where it is then distributed to top players in the Grand leaderboard at that time (i.e. top ‘all-time’ players at the end of a given month).
As the name suggests, Monthly reward progress resets on the first day of each month.
For Yearly rewards, 60% of the 50,000,0000 of the Yearly reward PIKA allocation is distributed to the best yearly players of each game. In practice, this means that 30,000,000 PIKA will be up for grabs.
The remaining 40% of the allocation (20,000,000) goes to the Grand leaderboard. This collective amount is then distributed to the top Grand leaderboard players at the end of the year.
Pikamoon Mini-Game rewards are distributed in GEMS.
GEMs are redeemable for PIKA itself (1 GEM = 1000 PIKA), and in the future, they will also offer discounts in the Pikamoon Store, as well as be utilizable within gameplay itself.
Visit the Pikamoon Arcade Games Rewards Calculator to see what each game’s top ranked player will earn. These figures are also subject to slight changes if participation numbers fall below a certain threshold.
Loyalty to the Pika Army is a core pillar of the Pikaverse, which is why we want to reward PIKA Stakers (even more) for their participation in the ecosystem.
As a result, PIKA Stakers will have their in-game scores multiplied by orders of 1.2–2x, depending on the staked amount in question. Visit here for a breakdown of multipliers for both PIKA and LP token stakers.
Chances are, it’ll be hard to keep up with the competition if you’re not staking your PIKA…
